The Fourth House is associated with the end and the resting place of things and therefore rules the house, and the end of life. It affects all matters of home and family and indicates the general state of the environment and in particular the environment in the latter part of life.

As Cancer is described as a protective, maternal sign, so the fourth house refers particularly to anything closed that surrounds and protects. Mostly the house, but also the womb and the tomb. From his position on the map derives its importance as a base, as the home is the base and the base from which starts the person's life for his life.
